Devon and Cornwall Backyard Ultra

 One of the world’s fastest growing running events – Backyard Ultra – is back in Devon!

Newnham 8 Miler and Canicross 8 Miler

Take part in the Newnham 8 miler for Bowel Cancer West - a two lap early evening trail run set in the grounds of the Newnham Estate. This distance is ideal for those who are not yet ready to do a half marathon, but great for some training.

Or how about doing the Canicross 8 miler with your 4-legged furry friend?

Plymouth Half Marathon, 10k or 5k

Run the iconic Plymouth Half, or take on the 10k or 5k run for Bowel Cancer West in April 2024. Not only do you get to take on a personal challenge, taking in the sights of Plymouth, the money you raise will go to fund research into Bowel Cancer, as well as supporting those living with Bowel Cancer in the South West.

You will receive a discounted entry and have use of a baggage drop in the charity village near the start and finish area, plus, if you raise £200 you will get a free running top.

Plymouth BCW Buddy Support Group meeting

 An informal meeting of people who have been diagnosed with bowel cancer and their family chatting over a cuppa.

The reason Bowel Cancer West Charity set up the buddy group scheme was because of frequent comments from people with bowel cancer:

“A diagnosis of bowel cancer can be so isolating as you tend not to know anyone else with the disease”
