Fundraise For Us
Fundraisers make a huge contribution towards helping us achieve our charitable aims. Whether it’s joining one of our existing events or organising your own, you can make a real difference and we can’t thank you enough for that.
Want to get involved but not sure what to do?
We are involved with a number of events taking place throughout the year, check out our events calendar and come and join in the fun!
If you can't see an event you want to fundraise for, don't let that hold you back! Here are some suggestions:
- Walk, cycle, run, swim, climb, row, sail, or whatever takes your fancy
- Extreme challenges, like skydiving. We work with a company based just outside Exeter if you click here
- Hold a 'fancy dress' day at work or school
- Organise a bake-sale or coffee morning
- Challenge yourself to give something up (like sugar or drinking alcohol) for month
- Host a quiz or music night in your local pub or club
- Run a second-hand sale: clothes, books,etc.
- Celebrate a birthday or wedding anniversary with donations instead of gifts.
- Be original and do something we haven't listed!
Please note, there are certain guidelines that come with fundraising and we are here to help you every step of the way: Download our guidelines here
Organise your own event
We have a selection of resources that we can provide you with such as posters and leaflets. Feel free to get in touch with us as we are more than happy to help with any questions you have or if you need any advice.
If you are organising an event in aid of BCW we can supply you with leaflets to explain our work and the facts about bowel cancer, as well as providing posters, collection tins and T-shirts.
We also have wristbands and bags for life that we can supply to you if feel they would be suitable for your activity or event – we ask for a donation towards these items and can advise you an appropriate amount. In addition, BCW has banners and pop-up information stands that we can arrange for you to borrow – these will need to be booked well in advance to make sure they are available, and to arrange delivery/collection.
Your charity needs you!

No matter how much you raise, you can make a real difference:
£20 can cover travel expenses for one of our bowel cancer survivors to deliver a presentation to 50+ people to explain the symptoms of bowel cancer. Even if just one person follows advice, that could be one life saved.
£100 can host 50 doctors to attend a training session on early prevention led by some of the UK’s leading bowel cancer experts.
£1,000 can support investigate whether bowel preparation (often given prior to surgery) affects an individual's fitness for surgery.
£5,000 will help fund a test to identify which patients are at high risk of becoming unwell immediately after their operation.
£10,000 can establish a registry of those at risk of bowel cancer due to inherited mutations. This will enable us to improve our identification and management of patients at risk with these problems.
£25,000 will fund a clinical trial to measure the time taken for individuals to regain their fitness following their operation. This may have a profound impact on support for recovery. |
