Getting on their bikes for Bowel Cancer West - Saturday 6th August

 
The international bike ride from Plymouth between Roscoff to Santander has been put on hold for 2011, and instead Bowel Cancer West are undertaking a local charity bike ride between Derriford to Lands End.

The event is taking place on Saturday 6th August, which will follow a route between towns en route to provide an opportunity for charity tin collections including Liskeard, St Ives, Padstow and further towns to be confirmed.

The route itself will be 110 miles which will be cycled in a day, the cyclists will be resting and staying overnight at Sennen Cove.  Support vehicles are in place for this event which allows individuals to do specific legs, or the whole trip depending on their legs!
 
Leg 1 - Derriford to Bodmin (42 Miles)
Leg 2 - Bodmin to Perranporth (60 Miles)
Leg 3 - Perranporth to St Ives(100 Miles)
Leg 4 - St Ives to Lands End (110) Miles

We have already received corporate sponsorship from Babcock Marine (£100), and Beckton Dickinson (£200), along with Nuffield Health who will be supporting this event, in addition a number of donations have been received from individuals supporting the bike ride charity fund raising and a final total will be announced on the web site after the event has taken place.
