Bournemouth Half Marathon

Bowel cancer survivor Helen Suffell is putting together a team of runners to take part in the Bournemouth Half Marathon on the 8th of October and is inviting you to join her!

Helen beat bowel cancer after being diagnosed in 2015 and is eager to make a difference by raising funds for regional charity Bowel Cancer West.

Currently, six runners have booked their place alongside Helen including her (sister Trish Diaper) who supported her every step of the way following her diagnosis.

Helen Said:

“My team is currently a mixture of family and friends, all eager to play their part to ensure more people like me can survive this disease and go on and lead an action-packed life like me. I would absolutely love for more people to join in the fun and help us raise funds for such an important cause. Knowing that more people will be treated successfully like me because of the funds we raise gives me all the motivation I need to run this race.”

Helen’s surgeon Mark Coleman said:

“Hats off to Helen for doing this after what she has been though. Not only is she raising valuable funds but doing this race also sends a strong message that exercise is a great way to prevent bowel cancer and I urge people to get out there and do the same.”

The Bournemouth Half Marathon takes runners alongside the famous seaside destination with views of stunning coast line along the way.

The team is open to people of all abilities and we invite you to contact Helen directly if you are interested to take part: helen@qtsfundraising.co.uk
